What Is a Dental Crown?

How CEREC Works
The doctors use the CEREC digital design and milling system to create custom crowns directly in the office.
Step 1
The process begins with the Omnicam® digital scanner, which captures highly accurate images of your teeth. Because the system uses digital scanning, there is no need for traditional impression material.
Step 2
The doctors use the digital images to design the crown on a computer.
Step 3
Once the design is finalized, the system sends instructions to our CEREC in-office milling unit, which fabricates the crown from a solid block of high-grade dental ceramic.
The result is a custom crown that fits precisely and blends naturally with your surrounding teeth.
